Wings Get Much Needed Win Against Sun
Arlington - The Dallas Wings (16-14) ended a three-game skid Saturday night, with a much needed victory over the Connecticut Sun (21-9).
With the 91-81 victory, Dallas becomes the only team in the league to defeat each of the top three teams record wise - Las Vegas, New York and now Connecticut.
Satou Sabally was absolutely relentless before the home crowd - diving after loose balls, going after every rebound and nailing shots from long distance. Sabally ended the night with a career high 28 points and she led all scorers in the game.
In addition to controlling the Dallas offense, Crystal Dangerfield shot 50 percent from the floor and finished the night with 16 important points.
Arike Ogunbowale completed her 15th 20 point game of the season, as she scored 23 points and made nine of her 10 foul shots.
After an impressive shooting performance in the first quarter, Connecticut struggled against the Dallas defense. Alyssa Thomas led the Sun with 26 points, but veteran Dewanna Bonner only added three points for the entire game.
Each Dallas starter contributed at least three assists Saturday night, including Teaira McCowan who dished out a season high six assists.
The Wings will head to Connecticut to face the Sun again on Sunday, August 18th.
