Ogunbowale Scores Career High in Loss to Seattle

Arlington - Despite a 41-point effort by Arike Ogunbowale, the Dallas Wings lose a second consecutive home game - this time 109 -103 to the Seattle Storm.

Behind the first half streaky shooting of Jewell Loyd, Seattle took a commanding double digit lead in the second quarter. Loyd would go on to finish with a career high of 39 points. This game was not short of scoring, as College Park Center fans witnessed not only a high-scoring affair, but 18 lead changes and eight ties.

The Wings refused to be written off in the first half and managed to cut the deficit to just eight points going into halftime. Dallas dominated the paint in this game, scoring 50 points compared to just 22 points in the paint for Seattle.

In addition to Ogunbowale’s career-day, Satou Sabally had an impressive performance with 25 points and seven rebounds. Natasha Howard recorded her third double-double of the season, with 20 points and 10 rebounds. In her return from injury, guard Crystal Dangerfield scored 15 points in 33 minutes of play.

Seattle trailed Dallas 75-74 to begin the final quarter. Much of the back and forth came in the final quarter, with Seattle pulling away from the Wings with clutch free throws and key shooting from beyond the arc and. Seattle (3-7) made 17 3-pointers Saturday afternoon.

Dallas (5-6) hopes to rebound at home against the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday.

“We have to get in the grind,” shared Wing’s Coach Latricia Trammell on preparing for Atlanta. “I have got to give them a day off tomorrow and then back in the grind again, watching film and getting prepared because they're (Atlanta) coming off two big wins on the road.”
