Duncanville Defeats North Shore in Texas Rivalry
Arlington - For the third consecutive year, the Duncanville Panthers and the North Shore Mustangs converged on AT&T Stadium for the UIL 6A-Division I State Championship.
Nationally ranked Duncanville took an early lead in this Saturday afternoon battle and would never relinquish that lead, winning 49 - 33.
Duncanville running back and LSU commit Caden Durham finished the game with 230 yards and three touchdowns on just 22 carries. The shifty runner wowed the crowd with two long touchdown runs, bulldozing his way through North Shore defenders.
Quarterback Keelon Russell accounted for four Duncanville touchdowns, including three through the air. Texas commit Colin Simmons had eight tackles and three sacks, earning Defensive MVP honors.
To the Mustangs’ credit, the Houston team never gave up in this game. The Panther’s high-powered offense simply proved to be too much. The Duncanville win is Coach Reginald Samples’ second state title.
