Dallas - The Molina Jaguars nearly completed the comeback Friday evening against the Lions of Carrollton R.L.Turner, but a late fourth quarter turnover resulted in a 35-28 final score.

In a mistake-filled Friday night battle, the Molina side of Sprague Stadium still remained full with hopeful Homecoming fans. Although the Jaguars netted 132 passing yards to Turner’s 19 passing yards - the home team also gave up two interceptions and a fumble on offense.

R. L. Turner took a 28-14 lead into halftime.

Running back Devon Perez rushed for 134 yards on 11 carries for the Lions. He also scored on a rushing touchdown.

This physical game recorded 19 total penalties and several stoppages in play. To say it was a physical contest would be an understatement.

Much to the delight of the crowd, Molina scored after a 99 yard, 14-play possession in the fourth quarter. With the score 35-28, Molina recovered the onside kick, but then lost the ball early into their next offensive possession. The Lions would inevitably take a quarterback kneel to end the game.

Molina’s quarterback Robert Johnson finished the night with 81 rushing yards, 42 yards receiving and a passing touchdown.

Turner (2-3, 1-3) will play Sunset at home next Thursday. Molina (1-4, 0-2), will take on Carrollton Newman Smith.
