Wilmer Hutchins - In what was anticipated to be an evenly matched Friday night battle, the Carter Cowboys defeated the Lincoln Tigers 46-20.

Down 19-7 shortly before halftime, Lincoln quarterback Byron Eaton Jr. connected with Jamel Hardy for an exciting 18-yard touchdown reception. The Tigers entered the half down just 19-14.

Eaton Jr. passed for 163 yards and three touchdowns. The Lincoln defense, however, could not stop the Carter running game. Led by Kaeden Landry’s 219 rushing yards - Carter rushed for 347 yards as a team Friday night.

Landry rushed for three touchdowns. Both Jalen Jones and Micah Wheeler each added a rushing touchdown for a Carter offense that seemed to burst through the Lincoln defense multiple times on every possession.

Carter, now 3-1 hopes to follow up with another win against Pinkston after a bye week. Lincoln, now 1-3 takes on Nevada Community next Friday.
