There is no denying the fact that the world has struggled to return to a sense of consistent normalcy over the last two years. The pandemic snatched from us even the illusion that we were ever in control of anything. Stress, worry and unhealthy coping mechanisms have taken a toll on many of us more so than Covid-19.

Self-care is no longer a recommendation, but a necessity.

Enter Brenda Wilcox-Harsley, owner and operator of The Beauty Clinic MedSpa. For 22 years, she has made self-care practices a lifestyle. Wilcox-Harsley makes it a special point to interact with all frequenters to her establishment, ensuring their comfortability and explaining the intrinsic details of all services offered at the Spa.

It is important to note that Wilcox-Harsley is a medical aesthetician, hence the “Medical” component in the MedSpa title. Over the years, she has worked with several pharmacists and skin care professionals to develop skin care products for her clients.  Her signature product line consists of cleansers, eye treatment, moisturizes, serums, spot treatments, anti-aging treatments and more.

Wilcox-Harsley is also a professional laser technician, offering laser hair removal services for her clients.

The Beauty Clinic MedSpa specializes in photo facials, tattoo removals, skin tightening, lipo-laser and skin resurfacing. Wilcox-Harsley was one of the first to offer such extensive spa services in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

It was a Groupon offer for a Colon Hydrotherapy session that led me to The Beauty Clinic MedSpa of Las Colinas in mid 2021. In complete transparency, I’d done very little research on Colon Hydrotherapy and had no idea if my colon even needed to be addressed. All I was certain of was that I was tired of feeling bloated and that I couldn’t “go” as frequently as one would prefer.

Perhaps this was an indicator of stress, since my home life, work life and daily activity were all seemingly going well. The stress of the pandemic manifested into an unhappy stomach and daily bowel movements were no longer part of my body’s narrative. When the apple cider vinegar shots stopped helping and the stool softeners were a bit too aggressive – I bought my first ever Groupon and headed to The Beauty Clinic MedSpa.

The Colon Hydrotherapy is more effective than the traditional enema.

The machine used for Colon Hydrotherapy can be a bit intimidating at first glance, but its designed function is far from invasive. The warm water used makes for a very pleasant experience. Its effectiveness after less than one hour is invaluable. I won’t spoil your first visit, but I will stress that depending on your height, age and diet you could be carrying several pounds of waste in your intestines.

The Beauty Clinic MedSpa is truly a one-stop-shop for self-care and preservation. Wilcox-Harsley and her team offer thorough massages, waxing, and memberships that will afford you the opportunity to enjoy it all on a monthly basis. Maybe it’s your lashes and brows that need attention or you believe your skin in general is in need of tightening – certified and well-trained members of The Beauty Clinic MedSpa are available to serve you.
