Cedar Hill Celebrates Homecoming Win Over Skyline
Cedar Hill - In a very one-sided Friday evening contest, the Cedar Hill Longhorns defeated the Skyline Raiders 23-0 to earn their first victory of the season.
Homecoming Night was nothing short of electrifying for both the Cedar Hill student body and the dedicated fanbase. The Longhorns (1-6, 1-3 District 11-6A) definitely fed off of the crowd’s energy and clamped down on a very deflated Skyline team (0-7, 0-4).
Cedar Hill scored the game’s first points on a safety midway through the first quarter. Cedar Hill senior linebacker Jaden Brown would go on to return a Skyline fumble for 54 yards, setting up a short touchdown run by Cededrick Castleberry Jr..
Skyline still had an opportunity in the third quarter, only down 16-0. Cedar Hill, however, had every intention of putting the Dallas team away.
With just over a minute remaining in the quarter - Cedar Hill quarterback Anthony Edwards completed a pass to Le'Keldrick Bridges over the outstretched hands of a Skyline defender. Bridges would take off and complete the 90 yard touchdown.
Skyline will seek its first win next week against Duncanville. Cedar Hill faces off against DeSoto next week.
