Chandler Parsons Sustains Potential Career-Ending Injuries in Car Accident
NBA veteran Chandler Parsons has suffered significant injuries following a car wreck in the Atlanta area last week. Parsons current team, the Atlanta Hawks announced last Wednesday that Parsons had been placed in the NBA's concussion protocol after suffering a concussion and whiplash in the crash, but did not disclose any further details.
According to ESPN, law firm Morgan & Morgan revealed Monday in a statement that Parsons "suffered multiple severe and permanent injuries including a traumatic brain injury, disc herniation and a torn labrum."
Parsons, 31, was reportedly driving home from practice last Wednesday when he was struck at a busy intersection. The driver responsible for the accident was apparently driving drunk and caused the three-car crash.
During his career, Parsons has played for multiple teams including the Dallas Mavericks. He was most recently acquired by the Hawks from the Memphis Grizzlies. During the ladder years of his career, Parsons has been plagued by injuries that have limited his play. According to his representative, at the time of the wreck - Parsons was in peak condition.
It is unclear at this time if his permanent injuries will end his career.
