Arlington - Jabari Narcis and Brian Warren both posted double-doubles, as UT-Arlington defeated Arkansas Tech 85-68 on Sunday.

The first half belonged to a very aggressive Narcis, who drained eight of his 12 shots from the floor, including five from the perimeter. The 6’9” forward set a career high with 23 points and tied his career best with 11 rebounds for the Mavericks (3-3).

Senior point guard Brian Warren contributed 15 points and a career-high 12 assists, as he controlled the offense for the Mavericks.

David Azore scored 16 points, most in the second half when the guard began to penetrate the Arkansas Tech defense.

Throughout most of Sunday’s competition, Arkansas Tech proved to be a shooting team, not at all afraid to launch it from the three-point line. The team took a total of 31 shots from distance, however, only making 10 of those shots. Dillon Gooding scored a team high 19 points for Arkansas Tech. Devante Foster added 17 points and eight rebounds, while R.J. Glasper scored 14.

In the end, UT-Arlington proved to be far more accurate in their shot selection and overall scoring than Arkansas Tech. The Mavericks are now 3-0 at home, but are still looking for their first road win. The team travels to play Furman on Wednesday.
