LeBron James Considers Himself the "Greatest of All Time"

It’s no mystery - I’m not a fan of LeBron James. Once upon a time, I was intrigued by him as an athlete. And then he made a spectacle of both himself and the game with “The Decision.”

On a recent episode of the ESPN+ series "More Than An Athlete," LeBron James said of beating the 2016 Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals: "That one right there made me the greatest player of all time."

Before you ask - yes, I am a Kobe Bryant fan. Yes, I believe Bryant to be a better athlete.

This has nothing to do with LeBron’s efforts in the community. I applaud him for his philanthropy.

Michael Jordan was a better NBA player. Julius Erving was a better player. Wilt Chamberlin was a better player. And yes, Kobe Bryant was more skilled and who I’d want taking the last shot in any game. In fact there are dozens of legends who were better ball handlers, better shooters, great teammates and none of them were allowed to travel with the ball incessantly like LeBron.

The difference between LeBron James and so many legends - only LeBron has repeatedly allowed the words “I’m the greatest player of all time” to escape his mouth.

Perhaps it’s simply his arrogance that won’t allow me to grovel at his athletic prowess like so many of my peers.
