New York is ALWAYS in Season
It’s that time of the year. My Timberland boots and I are ready to head back East. Yes, I’m a southern girl at heart, but nothing gives me traveling purpose like a weekend in News York.
In case you’re unaware - there is never a reason not to go to New York. The lights, the sounds, the architecture, the endless photo opportunity, the rudeness, the food - just go already.
I typically try to make it to New York twice per calendar year – once in the summer and once in the winter, since we don’t really get that beautiful cold and white winter in Texas. Believe it or not, you can actually make your way to the Big Apple for just under $400. That includes hotel and roundtrip airfare.

My main objective when traveling to New York is to find a place in the center of the action. Trust me, you don’t want to have to embark on a great mission just to get to the city and then have to navigate the subways, taxis and walking routes. I choose to stay in Manhattan.
Every hotel I’ve ever booked for my New York weekend getaways has been in the heart of Manhattan. Within fifteen minutes, be it by foot or subway – I always get where I want to go. Don’t stress so much about room space when in New York. Some hotel rooms are massive, but more often than not – the spaces are quaint and intimate.
My hotel recommendation for fall travel to New York is the Wyndham New Yorker. Right outside is Madison Square Garden if you want to take on a Knicks game. Penn Station is but a few steps away. Also, Times Square is a reasonable walk from this amazing hotel.
