Warwick Houston Provides True 'Fine Dining'

Houston - It’s true, “dining out” should be an experience. Warwick Houston takes this practice very seriously, and it shows from the ambiance - to the stellar service and of course the delectable food.

Fresh off a plane, my good friend and I arrived early for our reservation and were greeted by a nicely dressed gentleman at the door. Not only did he engage with us about our recent excursion to Boston, but he prepped us for what was indeed going to be a “fine dining” experience.

Just inside was a beautiful helping of the most well-dressed Black professionals. The dimly lit restaurant appeared to have strategically placed spotlights over each table, highlighting happily extended arms - raising mixed drinks and wines with joy. The restaurant smelled like a mixture of ORAGE by Louis Vuitton, freshly grilled sustenance and wealth.

Once at our table, we were further welcomed by the most charming Latin man with whiskers that curled each time he smiled. He knew we would enjoy Warwick Houston.

I’m not a drinker, but upon description of a cocktail that featured Grand Marnier, lemon, sweet potato syrup and Hennessy - let’s just say I was a little intrigued. My friend Aishia also ordered a cocktail that made her snap her fingers and do a little dance in her seat.

Our drinks arrived shortly before our Korean Cauliflower appetizer was placed between us. My goodness, was this the preview to a really good show. Even a non-cauliflower lover would appreciate the marriage of sweet and spicy with this dish.

To Warwick Houston’s extreme credit - the “presentation” of every single drink and dish is beyond fanciful.

For her main course, my friend savored the Spinach Stuffed Salmon. This dish features a generous serving of salmon, topped with jumbo lump crab and herb beurre blanc served over a bed of tomato basil orzo pasta.

On my side of the table, I was left speechless by the Snapper Orleans. I do believe the Lord himself approves of pairing blackened snapper fillet with andouille jambalaya risotto. Adding lump crab meat and a garlic butter sauce should secure someone a comfy corner in Heaven.

Overall Warwick Houston receives a 10 out of 10 from me. The environment is inviting and the diverse menu provides so many satisfying options. The fact that this is a Black Owned Restaurant is the topping on the cake!
