'No Regrets' Boasts Likable Cast and Simple Storyline
This is definitely one of those films that could've been shot in one day. Nothing too drastic here, but “No Regrets” is indeed entertaining.
It is true, some days start off very routined and then all of a sudden the entire world is on its side. For flight attendant Nina (Monica Calhoun), she has a loving man in her life named Roman (Amin Joseph) who has wanted nothing more than to marry her for the last 12 years.
Nina finally agrees to be his wife, but she doesn’t know why.
The transitions aren’t necessarily stellar, but it is revealed rather quickly that Nina’s upbringing and the absence of her mother has caused trust issues. On one of her layovers, she randomly takes up with a handsome man staying in her hotel.
Quincy (Brian White) offers just the right amount of distraction, but inevitably leads her to the realization of just what is important in life - family and true love. Of course, it wouldn’t be a drama if Nina and Quincy weren’t caught in a compromising position. Roman, concerned with Nina not answering her phone - flies to see her and finds her and Quincy in her hotel room.
The plot thickens just as quickly as it fades. Humility and the total set aside of pride allow love to prevail in “No Regrets.” The cast is complete with the likes of Loretta Devine, Sharon Leal, Elise Neal and even an appearance by BernNadette Stanis.
Would I watch the 2016 film “No Regrets” again? Probably not, but I’m not angry with this simple Friday night feature.
