I’ve visited California many times in my 34 years - most often to visit my family in the Los Angeles area. Last year Visit Oakland invited me to the Bay Area to cover the amazing Arts Festival and Food Culture. Early Wednesday morning, I was flown out of Dallas courtesy of Visit Berkeley to capture both the city’s art and food, as well as its locally sourced restaurants and collectives.

I’m writing this introductory piece from the comfort of my suite at the Doubletree by Hilton Berkeley Marina Hotel. Let me tell you - the accommodations are not too shabby folks. Not only is the Berkley Marina at my footsteps, but the city and all that it has to offer is right outside of my door.
