DALLAS - Stephen Curry does many things well, but crushing the Dallas Mavericks appears to have become more of a hobby.

The sellout crowd of more than 20,000 at American Airlines Center would not be disappointed by the 119-114 Golden State victory.

The Golden State Warriors (29-14) entered Sunday night’s contest against Dallas (20-23) poised to win, as the team so often does. Dallas, however, began the game with great aggression and never let the Warriors run away with a big lead.

Curry led all scorers with 48 points, making 11 of his 19 three point attempts. Right behind Curry in scoring was Kevin Durant with 28 points. The all-star forward had a balanced game including seven rebounds and five assists. Durant observed that Curry was hot Sunday night and suggested to Coach Steve Kerr that the offense run through Curry.

“He (Durant) knew that Steph (Curry) had it going tonight “ says Kerr. “There were a couple of plays that I called for Kevin and he said let’s flip it.”

The Mavericks owned a lead deep into the final quarter, but every NBA team and its respective fans knows that there isn’t a comfortable lead when playing Golden State. The Warriors simply have too many scoring options.

Devin Harris gave Dallas its first lead since the second quarter with a driving layup to make it 105-103 with 5:29 remaining. Harris followed that score with a long distance shot, giving Dallas a a five-point lead.

Curry tied the game at 114 with a floater in the lane with 1:39 to play. Doncic then missed a three-pointer at the other end, which would eventually set up Curry's game winner.

Dallas guard Luka Doncic scored a team high 26 points, including five three pointers. Harrison Barnes added 22 points, but slipped on the Maverick’s final offensive possession as fans hoped the team would at least get up a potential game-tying three point attempt.

Golden State faces conference leader Denver on Tuesday. Dallas has a home game against San Antonio on Wednesday.
