Is KD Becoming a Bay Area Distraction?

Is KD Becoming a Bay Area Distraction?

The Golden State Warriors do not belong to Kevin Durant. Hurt or not, the Warriors are Stephen’s Curry’s team.

Wednesday evening, for the seventh consecutive game, the Warriors were without Curry who is sidelined with an adductor injury. Golden State lost to Oklahoma City 123-95. Also missing from the lineup was Draymond Green, who recently had a war of words with Durant.

“Bitch” is apparently what Green hurled at Durant during a heated exchange on the Warriors’ bench during last Monday’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

The altercation, Green’s suspension, Curry’s absence and Durant’s looming free agency have all combined to make for a rather tumultuous ten days for the reigning champs.

While Green was suspended for the sideline antics, Durant was not. Is the ownership of Golden State showing preferential treatment to Durant? Many are not satisfied with what appears to be an incessant coddling of Durant. The two players have suggested that they’ve squashed their issues, but we are forced to wonder if all will ever return to harmonious for the Bay Area all-stars.

All indications are that someone must leave the Warriors’ team in the offseason. While Durant is a better scorer, I want Green on my team. His defense, his passion, his aggression are all so complimentary to the scoring provided by Curry, Thompson and others.

For the sake of Coach Steve Kerr and Golden State’s fanbase, here’s hoping the superstars can co-exist in an ever-so-competitive Western Conference.
